Three National Wins that Reveal the Extent of Trump Derangement Sydrome
It is a bitter testament to our times that even when Trump achieves certain successes which benefit all Americans, his opponents will still not acknowledge nor appreciate the win.
I ran across a short video on X the other day that served as a great reminder for me. The speaker (I believe it was Bob Proctor) utilized self-help language and “Laws of Attraction” gibberish which I don’t believe in, to nonetheless communicate something true. This was his message: problem-solvers are not absorbed by the problems themselves, but rather the solutions to the problem.
That sounds obvious, because, in theory, we all agree that we want problems to be solved. But it was convincing because I know that I, too, often focus on the problems rather than their solutions, and get in ruts that involve complaining, self-pity, and despair. Instead, I should seek to focus on how to solve the problem.
I suspect that I am not alone. True problem solvers are a rare breed. They are vastly outnumbered by those of us who are fixated on the problem, while the problem solvers have already begun thinking about the solution. We, in our despair and self-pity, get mad at problem solvers because they are not as angry and focused on the problem as we are. We mistakenly think that the problem solvers don’t care.
But, in fact, they have either consciously decided to temporarily ignore the concerns of the problem so that they can focus on solving it, or possibly they are just naturally aloof. They are temperamentally able to avoid fixating on problems which provides them with an almost a supernatural ability to solve them. Elon Musk strikes me as being in the latter camp, while Trump strikes me as being in the former. Either way, problem solvers are always focused on the correct thing: the solution!
President Trump for the Win!
Donald Trump has already solved many problems, and there are more solutions in the works. And yet, he gets virtually no credit from large portions of the population, even when his solutions are the same as those which were previously proposed by his nemeses. The media wants President Trump to wallow in their despair, but instead he has long since moved on. Even though obvious wins in politics are rare, President Trump has procured several so far. He has at least three—if not four—major wins that should be championed by at least eighty percent of the country.
Consider these wins listed below, and ask yourself what has happened to our national sanity that President Trump receives nothing but negative coverage when almost everyone should be cheering:
1. A closed border;
2. A plan to lower prescription drug costs;
3. The humiliation of “neocons” and “nation builders” during a speech in Saudi Arabia.
A potential fourth is Trump’s tariff/protectionist policies that will, in time, restore American manufacturing and supply chains. Even Bernie Sanders agreed that tariffs should be used to defend American workers.
In addition, throw in anti-corruption restructuring at HHS, getting boys out of girls’ sports, actual (and not in-name-only) infrastructure upgrades, as well as low inflation; these are policies that all Americans should be happy about. The national mood should be far more optimistic than it is. Instead, we just focus on the next problem rather than pausing to say “thank you” for the problems that have been solved.
Given that the various national ‘wins’ listed above do not appear to be enough to satisfy the masses, some Americans are proving that they are victims of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). So I therefore ask:
How is our closed border not preferable to letting in millions of unvetted people from around the world?
How is prioritizing American citizens not an advantage to American citizens?
How is it fair that Americans pay more than Europeans for the same drugs and medical devices?
For all the times the Left derided Bush for nation-building and endless wars, how is it not a national relief that President Trump is publicly rebuking that waste and carnage? Have we forgotten that the nation-building wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost over seven trillion dollars, hundreds of thousands of lives, and we have almost nothing to show for it but shattered lives and national debt?
Imperfect Progress is Better than Perpetual Grievances
To prove that I am somewhat objective observer, I will admit that I don’t think the Trump Administration is batting 1.000. For example, I am disappointed that Trump has not threatened to veto a budget that isn’t balanced within a few years. I am disappointed that the public is getting the run-around on the Epstein files. I am disappointed that investigations have not been launched into all of the people that Biden (allegedly) pardoned on his way out the door.
But there comes a time when, if Trump cannot get credit for these wins, we have to realize what we are dealing with. Not only do many people have an incurable case of TDS, they also may have lost sight of the fact that President Trump is looking over the other side of the hill. He is solving the problems, while we are merely observing (and complaining about) them.
Perhaps to advance the rhetorical ball, we should give President Trump credit for these 80/20 wins. They took courage, even though they may seem obvious (his own party frequently rebuffs him, after all). If the ones who dislike Trump cannot at least give him credit for his sensible solutions, then they should be called out for their absurd degrees of stubbornness and intransigence. To put things into perspective, if the only thing President Trump accomplishes in four years is a secured border (a supposed impossible task), then that alone should justify his ’24 victory. Surely, in less than a year, he has already accomplished far more than that.

Well said as always. I’ve long felt that we really don’t deserve Trump. He’s been so good on so much. His latest dress down of that POS president of South Africa was perfect.
I wouldn’t blame him for the budget fiasco. The GOP (and the Dems, of course) in Congress are utterly incompetent. All of them are corrupted imbeciles. Even the supposedly principled ones like Chip Roy or Tom Massie are playing games. Trump can only threaten to primary them. That’s his only real “check” on their power. It’s been enough to have a remarkable hold on the House. The Senate is a different animal.
My biggest concern right now are some of the cabinet people. Rubio, Vance, and the trade guys all kick ass, but Kash, Bongino, and Bondie seem like weak shills. I’m undecided on Hegseth, Tulsi, and RFK. I think there’s a ton of swamp to deal with, so they’ll take more time to shine.
I’m sure things will really start popping as we get into election season for the midterms. For now, I’m pretty happy.
TDS is an appropriate term to apply to those Trump haters. There has always been a high level of hypocrisy and dishonesty from the left, but it has now reached the level that many now believe those people are mentally ill. All rationality is gone.
Unfortunately, TDS has been spread and enhanced by destructive propaganda to affect many others into not seeing the reality of the situation we are in. The propaganda started well before Trump's arrival on the political scene. Yet these people, in their blind hatred, can only blame Trump for the growing divide that threatens to culturally and economically destroy not just the United States, but much of the world.
